Nations & Towns/Trade Towns
Trade Towns are designated safe zones within Pactoria, established to facilitate secure commerce and trade. These towns serve as neutral hubs where traders can engage in economic activities without the risk of player-versus-player (PvP) combat. However, Trade Towns remain vulnerable to sieges, which is to ensure that they do not become impenetrable strongholds.
Features
Trade Towns offer several key benefits to merchants and travelers:
- PvP Protection – Player combat is disabled within the town limits, ensuring a safe trading environment.
- Commerce & Trade – Chest shops are a must for trade towns, This is to allow players to buy and/or sell goods efficiently.
- Public Portals – Public portals that are accessible to all players, helping facilitate movement between Trade Towns and other locations.
Requirements for Trade Town Status
To be recognized as a Trade Town, a settlement must meet the following criteria:
- Town Level – The town must be at least Level 10.
- Marketplace Establishment – A minimum of thirty chest shops must be available, each offering fair, non-exploitative pricing.
- Aesthetic Standards – The town must be well-constructed, avoiding unfinished buildings or rudimentary structures (e.g., cobblestone boxes). The town must include at least 5 residential structures, and the town must look like it could sustain a population of people beyond only merchants.
- Portal Accessibility – The portal must be unobstructed, have easy access to the trade areas, and be set to public after the trade town has been approved.
- Neutrality and Hospitality – The town must not contain traps, nor should its residents engage in unprovoked hostility towards visitors.
- No Military Exploitation – Trade Towns cannot be used as safe havens for serial raiders, nor can they serve military or offensive purposes.
- No Active Warfare – The town must not be involved in an ongoing war or a series of sieges. If the founder or someone with the leader rank of a trade town is participating in a war, then that could be grounds for your status being revoked.
Application Process
Players seeking Trade Town designation must submit a ticket for review. If the town meets all requirements, the status will be granted by the server staff.
Revocation of Status
Failure to uphold the criteria may result in the revocation of Trade Town status. Towns that lose their designation may find it difficult to regain approval in the future, as staff discretion plays a role in reinstatement.
Trade Towns serve as vital economic centers within Pactoria, providing stability in an otherwise unpredictable world. By fostering fair trade and ensuring a secure environment, they encourage commerce and interaction among nations and independent traders alike.
